Function and Application Areas
Lightning surge protector V 25-B+C is designed as a lightning protection equipotential bonding device in compliance with VDE 0185, Part 1 and Part 100. It meets DIN VDE 0675, Part 6 (Draft 11.89) A1, A2 requirements for Class B+C protectors. In building lightning protection installations, it ensures equipotential bonding on power lines. When power lines are overhead-introduced into buildings, overhead lines may carry partial direct lightning strike currents; this protector is also applicable in such scenarios.
V 25-B+C/3+NPE (Class B+C) can be used in TN-C-S, TN-S, TT, and IT systems as a special surge protector. Designed according to the latest DIN VDE 0100, Part 534/A1 requirements, it allows simple and safe installation of paired protectors.
High-performance surge protector OBO V 25-B+C features a special varistor circuit with zinc oxide varistors exhibiting excellent nonlinear characteristics (а>30). Even under high-energy surges, the device provides maximum protection. At surge currents up to 60 kA, the protector voltage remains below 1.5 kV, enabling it to withstand partial direct lightning currents. During overloads, the built-in thermal disconnector isolates the protector module from the main circuit, ensuring normal power supply operation while the status window changes from green to red.
OBO surge protector V 25-B+C not only handles high lightning current capacities but also features low protection voltage, making it suitable as a combined B+C protector.
Installation
OBO V 25-B+C can be easily mounted on 35 mm rails in any distribution or switchboard. The clever design between the NPE protection module C 25-B+C/NPE and the base prevents reverse insertion, ensuring correct module installation.
